When Beach Fit stopped, so did I. My skin is starting its fade back to pale and I’m noticing muscle atrophy. I’ve been working out sporadically once or twice a week just to keep the fibers in check, with a few handstands here and there. I thought I could just turn the heat to low till it was that time of the year again when I could workout in the best environment imaginable: with tons of friends, under the warm sun, on the sand, at the beach.
But lately I haven’t been feeling as much of a man. And my spirit lacks luster. I miss that Beach Fit glow that would emanate from my veins pumping with endorphins and testosterone. And I must have it back.
Perhaps I could go it alone, down the dark path of the savage till the dawn of Beach Fit comes again. But perhaps, whilst the Beach Fit summer sun has set, we can reflect its light off the winter moon. Besides, Beach Fit was more than just the beach, sun, and sand. It was a community. It was a support group of peers. It was close friends and family encouraging and motivating each other to levels we would not have reached on our own.
That light that is each other can be reflected through this blog by posting the workouts you do, the nutritional food you eat, and the knowledge you learn. Make posts formal or informal, the more the better. I will lead by example starting tomorrow as it is already 5:30 AM and I have not yet slept, hence the emotional tone.
Though we are not all there, at the beach, we can be here, for each other. Beach Fit lives on.
