Weight Lifting, More Than Just a Workout

My time is limited. I have no time for the beach anymore and I have stopped working out regularly all together. I am being consumed by my work and when I’m not doing work I am sleeping. I can’t stand this any longer. I have to make a change.

I forced myself to start a routine over the past couple weeks. I plan a week in advance five workouts with rest days on Wednesday and Saturday and I have gotten the results that I want. These workouts have keep me sane. It is simple, I workout and then feel healthy and happy afterwards. I can feel the release of endorphins and neurotransmitters in my brain after my workout. They flood my whole body and give me a boost that both makes me feel good and helps me with the school work later that night.

But not all is swell, I have run into problems with this exercise routine that I have created for myself. At first I had to skip days and I couldn’t find time to do my workouts. I stuck with it and this past week I didn’t skip a day. This is the conclusion that I have come to. Working out is much more than just lifting weights and getting a six-pack. It is an activity that requires a lot of time and as a result makes you a master of time management. Forcing myself to create this routine that I thought I could never squeeze into my schedule has fit and more than that, it feels as if I have more time to do the workouts and more time to do my work.
